Tandem Health, a Stockholm-headquartered healthtech firm focused on reshaping how clinicians work through artificial intelligence, has completed a Series A round worth $50M (roughly €42.6M). Kinnevik led the investment, joined by backers including Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries Club.

The capital injection will fuel Tandem's ambition to lighten the administrative load on medical staff, creating space for direct patient engagement. Using the new resources, the company intends to move past its current documentation focus and construct a full-stack AI-native operating system tailored to healthcare environments.

Upcoming development priorities encompass systems for clinical coding accuracy, improved care coordination mechanisms, and real-time clinical decision assistance.

Tandem Health: Medical notes that write themselves

Lukas Saari, Oliver Åstrand, and Oscar Boldt-Christmas founded Tandem Health to deliver AI-driven support tools for clinicians throughout Europe. The platform handles clinical documentation through automation while progressing toward becoming an integrated operating system for the full spectrum of healthcare tasks.

The company frames its mission beyond mere process efficiency: "But this isn't about automation for its own sake. It's about making room for care that feels more personal, more focused, more human."

During patient consultations, Tandem's AI assistant generates precise, regulation-compliant documentation in real time, relieving clinicians from manual note-taking and voice recording duties. The company reports that tens of thousands of European healthcare workers currently use its AI assistant on a daily basis.

Through a collaboration with Accurx in the United Kingdom, Tandem's technology has reached more than 200,000 NHS staff members, representing one of the world's most extensive healthcare AI rollouts.

"We've brought in over 20 experienced doctors and psychologists and worked with hundreds of healthcare organisations to design a solution grounded in real clinical work. Every health system is different, and we knew we had to understand each one from the inside out. The future of healthcare will be shaped by whether healthcare workers can spend their time doing the work only they can do," the company states.
