The Madrid-based deeptech firm, which specializes in automating and orchestrating distributed cloud-to-edge setups spanning networks, infrastructure, applications, and artificial intelligence, has secured the funding as part of a broader €1.4 million financing round. The capital will fuel expansion of NearbyOne, the company's control plane for unified management and orchestration of cloud-to-edge environments spread across multiple locations.
Josep Marti, Nearby Computing's Chief Executive Officer, framed the challenge: "Every enterprise we work with is dealing with the same shift: infrastructure that used to sit in one place now runs across sites, clouds, and vendors, and managing it one piece at a time doesn't scale anymore."
Fragmented infrastructure is one of the biggest hidden costs in enterprise IT today. This investment helps us meet that demand as more organisations reach the point where orchestration stops being optional.
Josep Marti, CEO of Nearby Computing
As corporate IT systems become increasingly dispersed—stretching across manufacturing plants, shop floors, power grids, and telecom networks—the ability to govern them from a unified control point has shifted from a nice-to-have to a critical business requirement.
Nearby's solution enables enterprises to consolidate fragmented infrastructure management through a single control plane, replacing the patchwork approach of deploying separate tools for different domains. The platform automates provisioning, updates, and maintenance through policy-driven workflows rather than requiring manual, location-by-location intervention.
Built with vendor neutrality at its core, the platform orchestrates workloads regardless of hardware manufacturer, cloud provider, network infrastructure, or AI framework, allowing organizations to leverage existing technology investments and switch providers without costly rearchitecture.
Resilience is embedded into the platform's architecture. When connectivity fails or central cloud infrastructure goes down, mission-critical workloads continue running at the edge, minimizing operational disruption that might otherwise cripple essential business functions.
Real-world applications across sectors
Nearby's technology is already deployed across industries where uptime and operational stability are paramount. Telecommunications service providers use it to manage 5G Core and RAN infrastructure from multiple vendors as a unified fleet rather than operating each separately. Retail chains deploy and oversee AI-powered applications across hundreds of store locations from a single dashboard. Energy companies manage distributed sensors, assets, and applications across electrical grids, enhancing grid performance and facilitating renewable energy integration. In mission-critical settings, the platform ensures essential workloads remain operational locally, preserving business continuity even when central systems or network connectivity are compromised.
The funding round was facilitated through the Next Tech facility, which draws from Spain's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (part of the European Union's Next Generation Funds). This mechanism is designed to strengthen financing pathways for deep-tech startups and growth-stage companies.
