Berlin-based security technology firm Arcos has secured €5.5 million in seed-stage funding to grow its integrated monitoring and response system for critical infrastructure and other physical locations. The investment round drew participation from High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bayern Kapital, Pact, Haufe, Robin Capital and a group of strategic business angels. HTGF itself is backed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and KfW Capital.

The platform Arcos has built consolidates data streams from distributed sensors into a unified operational interface designed for managing security incidents. It serves operators responsible for monitoring diverse sites—residential buildings, office spaces, construction zones and critical infrastructure such as railway stations, electrical substations and data centres—all from a single command centre.

The company is addressing a structural problem facing the security sector: organisations are deploying ever more sensors while struggling to find enough personnel to manage them. Arcos replaces the traditional fragmented approach of multiple disconnected systems for observation, decision-making and response with a single integrated environment where threats are spotted, evaluated, prioritised and logged.

This industry helps decide whether the country functions, and it is changing faster than ever before. More sensors, fewer people. What is missing is someone who looks. That is exactly what we are building with our technology and the offering of a full-service provider.

Louis Wübben, founder and managing director of Arcos

Arcos operates both the software layer and the underlying control centre infrastructure itself. This vertical integration means the company's operations, engineering and product teams can refine processes based on real operational experience rather than depending on external software vendors to implement changes.

As a result, we see immediately in daily operations where workflows need to improve, and we can implement those improvements ourselves.

Moritz Steigerwald, founder and managing director of Arcos

The platform is built to function across different site categories, enabling operators to apply consistent processes and software whether they are securing homes, commercial buildings or critical infrastructure.

Arcos will deploy the new capital to hire additional staff in Germany, advance its platform capabilities and prepare for expansion in the critical infrastructure sector. The company also intends to enter new markets across Europe.
