The Global Deep Tech Showcase Awards has unveiled 40 finalists vying for recognition across eight distinct categories. The field encompasses startups and research spin-offs developing technologies in quantum computing, AI infrastructure, robotics, energy, biotechnology and space.

Organised by NORDEEP, the awards will take place on September 16–17 in Espoo, Finland. The competition evaluates businesses that have emerged from scientific research and advanced engineering, assessing them on the robustness of their core technology, commercial viability and readiness for global expansion.

The competition divides entrants into six technology-focused categories alongside two Research-to-Business (R2B) categories designed to spotlight innovations transitioning from laboratory to market.

Quantum, Future Computing & Deep Data Systems

Chips, Photonics & AI Infrastructure

The shortlist features BenarioXR, Lime Boost, LuminaPath, Myvox and nigeQ AI & Ethics.

Energy, Advanced Materials & Circular Industry

Competing in this space are EOLIC, Mineralytics, NOETON, NPHarvest, Spectromarine and Untuvia.

Life Sciences, Engineered Biology & Health

The category brings together Innofend, LifeGlue Technologies, Medlyse, Ossify Health and VitalSigns.

Physical AI & Robotics

Finalists include Link Robotics, Sensible 4, Thistle OÜ and Twinverse.

Research-to-Business categories

The two R2B categories spotlight technologies making the transition from research institutions toward commercial viability and scale.

Group A

Atapley Europe, the DOPAGuard R2B project at the University of Helsinki, Dora Health, MultivisionDx, Raw Edge and Spermotile are competing in this group.

Group B

This group features Gscan, Leida Tech, ScanwAi, SemantiSys and snowLEX.

What the awards recognise

The awards centre on the commercialisation of deep technology, emphasising three core elements: solving a genuine problem, possessing defensible intellectual property, and having a credible pathway to market adoption. The organisers position the competition as a bridge connecting promising deep-tech enterprises with investors, industry collaborators and prospective customers.

Winners across all eight categories will be announced during the event, with prizes recognising the breadth of technologies represented among this year's finalists.
