Munich-based Depotcharge has announced a €2.7 million pre-seed round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with backing from xdeck Ventures, Kopa Ventures, Prequel Ventures and investors from logistics, e-mobility and energy backgrounds. The capital will fuel expansion of its shared charging infrastructure platform for electric freight transport and fuel the company's push into new markets.
Alongside the funding news, Depotcharge has formed a partnership with the Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr Logistik und Entsorgung (BGL e.V.), Germany's freight transport association, to establish BGL Charge—a shared charging network designed specifically for the country's road freight sector.
Pooling idle capacity
Depotcharge's core offering addresses a structural inefficiency in the emerging electric truck market. As logistics firms invest in charging infrastructure at their depots, many charging points sit idle during parts of the day while drivers on routes must pay premium rates at public chargers. The platform aggregates this unused capacity into shared networks accessible to other operators.
Depot owners retain full control over their pricing, access rules and availability windows. Depotcharge handles the technical layer—access control, billing and payment settlement—while remaining agnostic to charging hardware, backend systems and vehicle brands.
How BGL Charge works
Under the BGL Charge banner, participating logistics companies can open their depot chargers to other fleets while gaining reciprocal access to infrastructure from fellow members. The network manages marketing, access control, invoicing and payments on behalf of operators, though individual depot owners continue to set their own commercial terms.
E.L.V.I.S. AG, a purchasing cooperative in the sector, is joining the initiative. The group will aggregate demand from its member companies and advocate for their interests within BGL Charge, connecting its community to the broader network while channeling additional charging demand back to members' own depots.
The idea behind Depotcharge is simple: logistics companies share their charging infrastructure with one another and unlock economic value across the sector. This principle translates ideally to associations, by members, for members, with a clear benefit for everyone involved

Next steps
The fresh capital will support further platform development and geographic expansion beyond Germany. Depotcharge intends to deepen integration with transport operations by adding reservation capabilities, open application programming interfaces and connectors to existing transport management systems.
