Chift, a fintech founded in 2022 by Gauthier Henroz, Henry Hertoghe and Matthieu Hertoghe, has announced a €10.5 million Series A funding round led by BlackFin Capital Partners. Existing backers Entourage, Shapers, Seeder Fund and Wallonie Entreprendre also participated in the round.
The Brussels-based company operates a financial connectivity infrastructure that lets software providers link their applications to business systems—accounting platforms, invoicing tools, point-of-sale systems, e-commerce solutions, payment processors and property management software—via a single unified API. Rather than building and maintaining separate integrations for each platform and market, software companies can integrate once through Chift's system to reach more than 120 financial tools across six categories.
Two major forces are reshaping the European financial software market, according to Chift's analysis. The first is the accelerating deployment of AI-driven financial products, which require seamless access to data spread across multiple existing business systems. The second is the continent-wide rollout of mandatory electronic invoicing, which is pushing more financial processes into digital channels and creating new interoperability demands.
Gauthier Henroz, Chift's co-founder and chief executive, framed the challenge in distinctly European terms: "AI and e-invoicing are rebuilding the entire financial software market, and businesses run on more tools than ever. Interoperability is becoming the defining problem of European SMB finance. Its fragmentation makes that harder to build than anywhere, as systems are split across 27 countries. That is exactly why we build the infrastructure that connects it all."
The capital injection will fuel Chift's expansion into new European markets and accelerate development of its AI capabilities. The company intends to build integrations that require minimal manual configuration, allowing AI products to tap into financial data with greater ease.
