Small studios are often defined by the people at the top, and the Vii Studio co-founders Vidzhai Hukasian and Viru Gukasian have split that responsibility along clear lines. Vidzhai Hukasian is co-founder and CEO; his brother, Viru Gukasian, is co-founder and COO. Together they lead a design and development studio that, by its own count, has been in business for 16 years and launched more than 100 projects, from restaurant websites to iOS apps.

The studio calls itself “a small studio, big ambition”. Its tagline is shorter still: “Design, code and results.”

How Vii Studio co-founders Vidzhai Hukasian and Viru Gukasian divide the work

The clearest view of the partnership comes from the studio’s own website, which gives each brother a one-line description of his job:

  • Vidzhai “sees the whole product — from the business idea to the last pixel”.
  • Viru “keeps everything running like clockwork — timelines, processes, the team”.

It is a classic division between product and operations. Here, both halves of it sit within one family.

Read against what the studio promises its clients, the split is easy to trace. The product side covers what a site or app should do and how it should look and behave, down to the pixel. The operational side shows in the shape of every project: research, then design, then build, then launch, with logic and visuals agreed before a single line of code is written.

From a small web studio to a distributed team

The company began on 15 February 2010 as a small web studio called NiceWeb, at a time when, as the studio recalls, building a website meant a lot of manual work and very few ready-made solutions. By 2019 it had outgrown the “websites only” format, with branding, design, app development and its own products in the mix, and it took a new name: Vii Studio. The studio describes the change as the same team and experience, with wider ambition and full ownership of the result.

Today the more visible change is in how the studio is organised. Almost the entire team works remotely, and the studio says its designers, developers and marketers work in one rhythm wherever they are. The registered office is in Wrocław, Poland. The wider team includes Alexey Turabin, Head of Marketing, whose job the studio sums up as turning good design into traffic, leads and sales.

That combination gives the story its shape: leadership that stays within one family, and day-to-day work carried by an international, distributed team.

Craft at the scale of a bracelet: MANTRA Choker

If the CEO’s remit runs to “the last pixel”, consumer apps are where that attention is easiest to see. One example is the MANTRA Choker jewellery app for iOS, a 2025 project in the studio’s portfolio.

The app lets users design their own choker or bracelet by choosing a style, stones, a colour palette and a material. Every step is guided by the meaning of each stone, so the symbolism is built into the design process itself. Behind the interface, a PHP backend handles orders and sends notifications via Telegram.

It is a compact project, but it shows why the co-founders’ division of labour matters in practice: a product decision about how people choose jewellery, an interface that walks them through those choices, and an operational link that turns a finished design into an order.

What an early product taught the studio

Long before consumer apps, the studio built a platform of its own. In 2011, under the NiceWeb name, it created Vii Engine, a turnkey social-network engine, at a time when ready-made solutions of that kind were scarce. According to the studio, it was licensed 89 times.

The studio now treats Vii Engine as part of its history, but credits it with teaching the team to hold a whole product in mind: performance, security, usability and growth. That is close to how the CEO’s own role is framed today. The full account is in the story of Vii Engine on the studio’s site.

A studio that refuses “just pretty”

The studio’s own materials state its philosophy bluntly: “We don’t do ‘just pretty’. We do clear, fast and to the point.” The stated aim is websites, apps and brands that bring leads and sales, not just good looks.

The portfolio shows the range this covers. Next to MANTRA Choker sit Daily Look AI, an iOS styling assistant that reviews an outfit from a single photo; MPower Skating, a booking app for ice-hockey players; TeamScord, a voice-communication platform for friends, teams and gamers; and a corporate website with iOS and Android apps for Edison Pastry Shop. More on the people and the history is on the studio’s team and history page.

For a family-founded business, the model is simple to describe: one brother leads on the product, the other on the process, and a remote team works in between.
