Zopa, a UK-based digital bank serving over two million customers, has introduced an AI-powered voice banking feature designed to streamline financial management. The new capability allows account holders to perform routine banking operations—such as transferring funds between contacts and paying bills—by speaking to an intelligent assistant rather than navigating traditional interfaces.
The voice service, now available to all current account holders after a trial period, handles a range of everyday financial tasks. Customers can photograph invoices and verbally request payments, or use written chat to communicate with the AI assistant. The system is engineered to learn user preferences and adapt its responses accordingly, creating a more personalised banking experience.
Built on Zopa's own artificial intelligence infrastructure and what the company describes as an "agentic architecture," the technology aims to reduce friction in routine money management. The rollout reflects a broader trend among digital-first banks integrating AI-driven features into their platforms.
Ask Zopa redefines the role of a bank in our customers' lives, from simplifying day to day tasks and money management to actively helping people plan, save and make smarter decisions in real time.
