Two organisations—the Monaco Hydrogen Alliance, a nonprofit headquartered in the Principality of Monaco, and MobilityVC—have jointly established MH2Fund, an investment vehicle focused on financing emerging hydrogen technology companies driving Europe's transition to a hydrogen-based economy.

The fund targets hydrogen innovations capable of cutting emissions across transport, manufacturing, and supply chain operations. By merging policy expertise with venture investment know-how, MH2 intends to nurture Europe's hydrogen sector as it moves from laboratory development toward commercial deployment at scale.

SunGreenH2 Secures First Backing

MH2Fund's inaugural investment goes toward a funding round for SunGreenH2, which manufactures scalable, cost-effective green hydrogen electrolysers. Operating from Singapore, the firm is developing what it describes as a materials operating system for decarbonised molecule production.

The company's proprietary NanoForgeXTM platform creates advanced nanostructured electrodes that boost hydrogen generation by a factor of two, lower power requirements, and eliminate dependence on scarce elements. Beyond hydrogen generation, the technology enables efficient carbon reduction and production of sustainable molecules at competitive prices and high volumes.

SunGreenH2 has already attracted interest from organisations in Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. With MH2's financial backing, the company plans to broaden its technology offerings and roll out systems across Europe and internationally.

Now more than ever, Europe needs abundant, affordable green hydrogen to power its energy transition. With MH2's support, we're delighted to be accelerating the scale-up of our breakthrough electrolyser technology and expanding our footprint across key European markets. Together, we're building the foundation for a cleaner, more resilient energy future.

The Monaco Hydrogen Alliance

Based in Monaco, the Monaco Hydrogen Alliance operates as a nonprofit dedicated to advancing renewable hydrogen adoption in the transport sector. Its membership spans industry executives, government officials, and capital providers, all working toward shared goals in hydrogen innovation and clean mobility.

The Alliance organises the annual Monaco Hydrogen Forum, bringing together specialists to examine progress and trends in hydrogen-powered transport. The organisation also establishes working groups, releases research publications, and presents the Monaco Prize for Innovation in Renewable Hydrogen and Transportation to honour breakthroughs in sustainable mobility.

Operating under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, the Alliance pursues a vision of hydrogen as a cornerstone of worldwide low-carbon transport and energy transition.

This investment is a direct outcome of the Monaco Hydrogen Alliance's work bringing together the continent's most ambitious hydrogen players. MH2 is the natural next step to turn vision into velocity.
