This narrative—framing workforce reductions as technology adoption rather than financial restructuring—has become commonplace across the sector. However, recent research undermines the premise. Gartner's latest survey reveals that while roughly 80% of organizations implementing autonomous technology have eliminated jobs, these cuts are failing to generate meaningful financial improvements. Reorganizing around machine operators
